As I hear every summer, “Where did June go?” It flies by so fast! Now we’re into July. A little rain has come our way, much needed by all. The temperatures are soaring into high summer! The humidity is either making you crazy, or not bothering you a bit!
We are just about to celebrate Independence Day, once again! It means different things to people, and celebrations vary.
I hope you find yourself grateful to live in America. There has been much strife here over the past several years. Events that go beyond tragic. There’s no reason to point out all the negatives our country has experienced. We all know what they are.
Now it’s time to turn things around. Find something positive to invest your energy into. It can be anything that helps another, or the planet. We’re encouraged to think of others during the winter holiday season, but we need to lend a hand all the time.
Doesn’t matter if you pick up trash along the street, feed a stray cat, buy someone’s coffee, or hold open a door. The hatred this country, and world has seen over the last several years, is threatening to overtake the good that’s still here, obliterating everything for the future.
You may not have noticed, but babies are still being born every single day. They deserve a world to grow in. A world that will keep them safe, guide them, teach them and honor them.
I challenge you to go the extra step. If you can’t do it every day, start with just one day. Think of something to do that is helpful to someone else, or something else. Once you start, you find out how good you feel, and paying it forward quickly turns into a habit.
As we enjoy fireworks this week, celebrating America’s birthday, give the present of your presence for someone else. We all need a pick me up now and then. Give a compliment, buy a coffee, share what you have. At the very least, smile! A smile tells others that they aren’t alone.
God Bless America.
